Talia + John

Can I get a drumroll please, for one of the most anticipated weddings of this year! Talia and John’s day was finally here last Saturday and it left us wishing we could celebrate with them… Every. Single. Weekend! They are two of the most genuine and sweet people, and we were thrilled to get to share and capture their wedding day! Ever since our first meeting, to their engagement session with their sweet pup Roxie, every moment spent with them has filled us with joy!

Upon arrival to Talia’s house in the morning,  welcoming me with a warm hug, she was already dolled up and looking beautiful, while her tribe of bridesmaids scurried around her, getting their dresses on as clouds of perfume filled the air. It was so much fun for me in the morning between all the pretty details, and the beautiful backdrop of Talia and John’s sophisticated Glam home, I couldn’t help but tell her how much I loved her interior decorating (and I hope she knew I wasn’t kidding when I mentioned that I’ll be calling her up for some tips soon! ) When it came time for Talia to put her dress on, it was unlike any other moment I’ve seen before. Everyone and I mean everyone, in the house surrounded her to help! These girls were there for her, the friends that everyone needs!

The ceremony took place at Mount St. Carmel in Utica, a gorgeous church that Tom and I were excited to get back inside of! John was waiting at the end of the aisle as the bus pulled up blasting the song “Going to the Chapel”. Everyone was singing and cheering and it was way too sweet for words! When Talia and John made it into each other’s arms at the head of the church, we couldn’t help but notice them shooting each other glances and little smiles. Those are always our favorite moments to catch, and make us smile every time! After “I do’s” and a kiss sealed the deal, rain started to pass through, and even though it continued on and off the entire day, we didn’t let that stop us!

Our first let up of showers gave us the opportunity to take some photos with John’s late father’s vintage car. It was a surprise to Talia from John and her reaction was heartwarming and being able to photograph them with it made us really happy that we could do that for them both.

The second time the rain let up was crazy because we had to make a call, should we risk it and take the entire bridal party to a park, or should we play it safe and go to the train station where we knew everyone would stay dry? Guess what? We decided to risk it, and it was so worth it too, because even though we were surrounded on all sides of huge black clouds and rumbling thunder, we got so many beautiful shots at the park AND with their fur baby Roxie all before the sky opened up as we hopped back on the bus and made our way to the bar Belview Sports Bar.

That’s where the third storm cleared, Belview is a bar/ “man cave” that Talia’s dad owns and that stop wouldn’t have been complete without a big group photo at the bar, and most importantly a photo of Daddy and daughter out front by the sign!

The reception was held at Valley View and oh my goodness, it looked stunning, totally glamorous, romantic and timeless! We loved the gorgeous drapery and glistening centerpieces, and those chairs, super unique and very beautiful! Everything from introductions, and speeches, dinner, and the dance circles,( including the best dance move – the double dutch jump rope) it all made for a very special night, celebrating two wonderful people!

Congratulations Talia and John! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your day, we are wishing you lots of love!
