The Venue: Marriott Hotel Syracuse
Originally opened in 1924, Hotel Syracuse has been a staple in downtown Syracuse for nearly a century. After an extensive renovation, it reopened as the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, keeping its historic charm while adding modern touches. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with chandeliers, marble floors, and intricate ceilings that make for a perfect backdrop to a wedding day. The venue offers multiple event spaces, top-tier catering, and all the convenience of a hotel—so your guests don’t have to go far after the party wraps up.
For our featured couple—Nicole and Jake—they held their ceremony in the ballroom, then moved guests to an outdoor cocktail hour area while the space was flipped into a stunning reception setup. It’s a smooth transition, and from a photographer’s standpoint, the lighting in the ballroom is fantastic—big win.

Finger Lakes Ballroom
This grand ballroom offers a spacious, elegant setting for weddings of all sizes. At 2,080 square feet, it can be divided into three sections to fit any layout, whether you’re planning on using it for your ceremony and/or reception. The pre-function area provides extra space for guests to mingle during the cocktail hour!
Bridal Rotunda and Groom Suite
Getting ready at the hotel is a no-brainer. The Bridal Rotunda offers plenty of space, gorgeous lighting, and an intimate setting to prep and unwind. The Groom Suite is just as comfortable, so both sides of the wedding party have a place to relax.
And since it’s a hotel, there are plenty of room options for guests as well, which means no one has to worry about transportation at the end of the night.
