Kim + Kyle’s Wedding

It’s hard to not play favorites with a couple like Kim and Kyle, they are the peanut butter to our jelly, and right after we left the cafe after meeting them for the first time we were thinking, wow, can we please be best friends with them? They light up the room with their personalities, Kim like a ray of bubbly energy and Kyle like a wave of cool, the perfect balance to each other. It’s always a pleasure to share the very special privilege of capturing such a major event in the lives of a couple and we always take the time to get to know the couple. Usually Tom and I aren’t the main topic of conversation, but Kim and Kyle always made it a point to ask us about ourselves, how we were and even were there before we got our sweet pug Dwight (so they knew how much we wanted him) and since then they have always included Dwight in every email check in’s! They even went out of their way to send us a wedding invitation and a card reading “we want you to feel as much a part of our wedding day as possible”. Their kindness was unmatched, we truly believe the world needs more people like them, and we consider ourselves lucky to call them friends!

Kim and Kyle built their relationship on a strong foundation beginning as friends and eventually falling for each other. They have a mutual friend (Clint- a member of their awesome wedding party) to thank for bringing them together, and their shared group of friends most certainly made getting to know each other even more fun! Kyle and Kim would spend tons of time talking outside of her apartment building in Rochester on this bench in a beautiful courtyard, and when Kyle began to think of places to pop the big question, he knew there was only one place, on that special bench where they had shared so many conversations. Tom and I were so happy that we got to visit that bench during their engagement session and take some photos on it, knowing what memories it holds!

Last Saturday the wedding came and went too fast in our opinion! Wedding day’s always fly by but we specifically did not what this day to end, we even stuck around an extra hour and rocked out to the awesome live band and the best shaggy impression circa 2000. Let’s rewind to the start of the very special day. The Turning Stone hosted the ceremony and reception, and Bella Event Planning already had the place transformed with the help of the artistic vision from Kim’s mother (who also has an adorable pug FYI!) The girls were getting ready in the bridal suite with the incredible beauty team, Stephanie from “Tease and Makeup” and Courtney Baker Hair Design. As Kim and her sister Kaitlyn sang their hearts out (like two angels in perfect harmony) we were keeping our eye on the window, crossing our fingers and toes that the rain would stay away. When it came time for the first look, the chance of rain had passed and the cloudy sky made the pristine grounds our playground for photos! With the chemistry between the two *almost* newlyweds the portrait session was a piece of pie, *pizza pie!* We even finished with time to spare so we could listen to some musical songs and sing our hearts out some more! Emotions got sweeter when it reached the time of the ceremony when Kim and her father took a moment to themselves before walking down the aisle. They were each smiling until right when the music started to play the wedding march, in which their eyes filled up with tears and they exchanged “I think I’m going to cry now”, “me too.” – I almost chimed in “me three” with how adorable that moment was! The ceremony was lovely, the exchange of vows from Kim and Kyle had me tearing up behind the camera, and Kyle’s sister was the officiant who had the honor of marrying them, so special!

Everyone had their dancing shoes on for the reception where the ballroom was the perfect place to turn loose to one of Kim and Kyle’s favorite bands they always go out and dance to in Rochester! We love that they got to share something they love with all of their guests! Incredible night, with incredible food, music, and people! Tom and I were honored to capture Kim and Kyle’s wedding! Congratulations you guys, sending pug hugs from Dwight your way!
