Sam + Sam Wedding at Wolf Oak Acres

Sam and Sam are married! We are so excited to be bringing you their wedding blog because it is double the love! Two sweet brides, both named Sam, and now, both sharing the same last name as well! Their wedding was jam-packed full of such sweet emotion from beginning to end! When we asked them what they were looking forward to most for their wedding, aside from the actual getting married part, they were excited to share their marriage with their family and friends, how sweet is that?!

First, their engagement story! Sam G and Sam C. (Aka, Cardone) were on their way to Lake Placid for a trip to celebrate Sam’s birthday and for finishing up her first semester at nursing school. On the way there, Cardone’s stomach started to feel a little off…nerves were getting to her, knowing that today was the day that she would propose. After getting to the hotel, the plans changed, as the -10 degree weather made the idea for an outside hike sound just a little bit too cold. Instead, the hotel, decorated for the holidays with the twinkling lights, Christmas tree and roaring fireplace made for the perfect backdrop. Now, how to grab the ring unsuspiciously and how to capture the moment? Cardone said she needed to go get her jacket out of the car (where the ring was hiding) and on the way back she made a pit stop by the front desk, where she asked for a little help to “take a photo” (aka, record the whole proposal.) The woman behind the desk happily agreed and as they made their way back down to the lobby and stood in front of the fireplace for a quick photo before dinner, Sam had no idea what was coming. The lady said, “ok, one more” which was apparently the code word and Cardone walked over to her coat. Sam, standing alone as Cardone dug through her jacket pocket, smiled awkwardly at the woman, feeling bad that they were wasting her time. As Cardone came back, ring box in hand, Sam was so distracted about finishing taking the photo that when Cardone told her that she loved her, and was hushed into finishing taking the photo they were “posing” for, it took one extra line of “no, I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you” for Sam to realize what actually going on. Immediately tears started flowing. An unforgettable moment they will never forget!

Tom and I were excited to be back to Wolf Oak Acres, where we were for their engagement session! There was something extra special about sharing those memories and then seeing them on the big day in the same place! We spent our mornings with them individually, capturing all the fun, nerves, and anticipation leading up to the Ceremony. When Sam made her way down the aisle to Cardone – to become, a Cardone, tears were flowing once again! From tears, came laughter and smiles, and then Sam and Cardone cranked up the party during their reception, where the dance floor was full! It was an unforgettable night and we were so honored to be a part of their wedding!

Congratulations to the Cardones! Sending you hugs and all the well wishes for your future!
