Forrest + Emma // Romantic Golden Hour Engagement Shoot

Sometimes the most beautiful conditions come after the storm. Forrest and Emma’s romantic golden hour engagement shoot is the perfect example of that.

The forecast called for rain all day, and as their session approached, it seemed like it might actually follow through. Instead of making a quick call to reschedule, we decided to wait it out a little longer. Just 15 minutes later, the weather shifted – and what followed was one of the most beautiful golden hours we’ve seen in a long time.

The rain clouds that had been hanging around all day created the perfect backdrop. As the sun broke through, it lit up the sky with warm golden light while dramatic clouds lingered in the distance. The combination made everything feel a little more magical than your typical sunny evening.

And then came the rainbow.

It stretched across the sky as Forrest and Emma wandered through the landscape together, somehow making an already beautiful evening feel even more surreal.

Moments like these are why we’re usually hesitant to make weather-related decisions too early. Some of the most incredible sunsets and golden hours happen because of the storm clouds that come before them.

More than anything, though, what made this session special was Forrest and Emma. They trusted the process, rolled with the uncertainty, and were simply excited to spend the evening together. That easygoing energy made every photo feel natural and genuine.

In the end, the rain forecast that seemed like a problem turned out to be the very thing that created such an unforgettable evening.
